Hardware That Lasts

Hinges and runners take more wear than anything else in a cabinet. Soft close runners rated for the drawer weight and solid brass or steel hinges cost a little more and last many times longer than budget versions. We fit these as standard.

What is the difference between bespoke cabinetry and joinery?

Joinery is the broader trade, covering doors, stairs, windows and frames. Cabinetry is the furniture side: cupboards, drawers, shelving and built in units. We do both, which helps when a new piece has to meet existing joinery and match it.

Can you build cabinetry around a chimney breast?

Yes, and it is one of our most common requests. The two alcoves are rarely the same width or square, so each unit is measured and built separately, then scribed to the wall. Done properly, the pair looks symmetrical even though the sizes differ.

How long does bespoke cabinetry take?

Three to four weeks from measuring to fitting for a single piece, with fitting usually taking a day. Larger runs, or a painted finish applied on site, add time. We give you a making time and a fitting date when you place the order.
